Ingredients for cake:
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups salad oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups chopped apples
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions for cake:
- Mix eggs, salad oil and sugar. Blend well.
- Sift flour, salt and baking soda; add to the egg mixture.
- Add chopped apples, vanilla and nuts. Mix well.
- Place in a greased and floured cake pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour until the cake tests done.
- Pour hot topping over hot cake.
Ingredients for topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 stick butter
Instructions for topping:
- Mix ingredients.
- Cook (boil) for 2 1/2 minutes.
- Pour immediately over the hot cake.
