Joyce’s Aunt Dorothy Shaw’s Norwegian Meatballs

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork/mild breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • small grated onion [1/2 cup]
  • 2 eggs slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp each pepper, allspice, ginger, nutmeg
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • small raw potato, grated
  • 1 can mushroom soup
Instructions:
  • Mix well. Shape into balls the size of a walnut. 
  • Brown meatballs in butter. Put browned meatballs in a roaster or slow cooker.
  • Use mushroom soup in fry pan to make gravy.
  • Add mushrooms if you’d like. Add soup and use milk if needed.
  • Pour over meatballs. 
  • Bake for 1 hour at 300 degrees or warm in slow cooker.
